Where can you see Morris Dancing in action in Hull and district? Best check the websites of the various local Morris teams which give details of dance outs (see “Links”). There may be last minute alterations. Remember also that weather is important and rain may lead to last minute cancellations. Sadly, not all team websites are bang up to date!

Saturday 30th November, 2019 Not Morris but interesting nonetheless!
Many of our best known carols, such as “Good King Wenceslaus” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” were words added to folk dance tunes. If Folk Dancing to Christmas Carols is your fancy, you are welcome to St Luke’s Church, Chestnut Avenue, Kingston Road, Willerby will be hosting exactly this on Saturday 30th November from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. The cost is £2.50 with invitation to participate in a “bring and share” supper. Sunday 1st December 2019 Makara Morris will be dancing out in Victorian dress at the Dickensian Market in Bridlington’s historic old town.

Freaks in the Peaks. This Morris gathering usually consists of groups and individuals learning dances on the Saturday morning which are then danced out at local venues in the afternoon and on the following Sunday.
